This popular campsite and children's farm (established 12 years ago) is situated close to the OR Tambo International Airport, Pretoria and Midrand.
The Camp Site:
The Camp Site activities focus mainly on schools, choirs and youth groups. Packages include accommodation, meals and programmes.The campsite is visited by approximately 9 000 people per year and is normally fully booked months in advance. fully booked at least 6 to 12 months in advance. The Camp Site also caters for a variety of functions and can easily be converted to cater for conferences.
Farmyard:
The Faryard operates during school terms from 9am to 12am and is visited by about 30 000 learners per annum.
Facilities:
• Main Building (350m² with thatched roof) that houses the primary homestead, office, Tuck Shop, Kitchen and serving area. Attached to this building is a granny flat (184m² with thatch roof) with bedroom, bathroom, living room and kitchenette with two luxury en-suite rooms situated on the first floor.
• Main Homestead (322m² with tile roof) that consists of 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, spacious kitchen, scullery, store room, sitting room, family room with study, built-in braai with serving area, double garage, maids quarters, swimming pool, beautiful garden. The house has paving all around as well as a paved driveway. It is completely walled in with electric fencing as well as burglar bars on all outside windows and doors.
• Main Scullery / Gift Shop (157m² with thatched roof) that houses the scullery, Gift Shop as well as two spacious en-suite luxury rooms in the loft area. Adjacent to this building is a large storeroom (26m² with corrugated roof) with shelves.
• Luxury Rooms (120m² with thatched roof) that houses an addition four en-suite luxury rooms.
• Two Ablution Facilities (136m² with thatched roof and 120m² with corrugated roof) that houses a total of 34 showers and 24 toilets.
• Hall A (308m² with thatched roof) and fully equipped kitchen.
• Hall B (162m² with thatched roof) as well as a fully equipped kitchen (± 40m² - completed in 2009)
• Hall C (193m² with thatched roof) – no kitchen
• Entertainment Lapa (63m² with thatched roof)
• Accommodation (670m² with thatched roofs) which is made up by 30 rooms with 8 beds each as well as 4 rooms with 12 beds each. The total basic accommodation at the resort is 288 people plus a further 16 people in luxury en-suite rooms i.e. 304 people.
• Generator Room (18m² with corrugated roof) with a John Deere 125kVA generator (bought in 2008 and hardly been used). Generates enough power to run the entire facility.
• Outbuildings (total ± 250m² mainly corrugated roof) which includes garages, tool shed, exhibition area for Farm Yard activities etc.
• Buildings on the property total an area of approximately 3 100m².
• Swimming pool (200m²) totally rebuilt in July 2009. Equipped with three pumps and enclosed with a 1.2 m wall.
• Four outside lapa areas that is used for different purposes.
• Very large boiler to provide warm water.
• Obstacle Course, Literia Course, Survivor Course and Volleyball Court.
• Electricity is supplied directly by Eskom while water is supplied via a strong borehole on the property. The borehole is fully equipped and all water pipes and electrical lines are in full working order to the various buildings.
• Due to the large number of thatched buildings on the property it is also equipped with a total of 9 lightning conductors.
• The entire property is surrounded with an electric fence and also linked to armed response.
• All equipment and furniture (except personal furniture in the homesteads) are included in the selling price.
Farmyard Animals and Facilities::
Animals included in sale: (all housed in attractive enclosures)
1. Cattle, sheep, goats & pigs.
2. Guinea Fowl, peacocks, chickens, turkeys & mascovy ducks.
3. A variety of exotic duck species (Mandarin / Teal / Carolina etc).
4. Six different species of swans {Mute (4) / Black (4) / Black Necked (2) / Whooper (2) / Trumpeter (2) / Coscoroba (2)}.
5. Capuchin (3), Squirrel (8) & Wheeper (2) monkeys.
6. Rabbits, squirrels, pigeons & budgies.
7. Donkeys (6), miniature horses (3) & camels (4).
8. Emus (2) & Ostriches (2).
9. Macaw (2) & Cockatoo (1) Parrots.
Animals excluded from sale: 4 camels. Inclusion negotiable.
The Farm Yard also has a stadium area that seats approximately 180 children as well as four areas that are covered with shade netting, with seating for approximately 120 children each.
